    Post sonic 3 & knuckles codes

    the follow game is s3&k.
    i think is strange that you only have a "few codes" in the database, when really almost all the s&k codes that i and you have (some are the same codes), also works in s3&k.

    so i put here all the needed codes for refill s3&k in the database. the codes that i and you have (codes for s&k that also works in here with s3&k), plus some new codes more. lets go...


    sonic 3 & knuckles:

    FFFFE0:0001 SELECT STAGE MENU - (enable sound test option)
    FFFFDB:0001 DEBUG MODE
    FFFFE1:0001 SLOW MOTION & A + START = RESET GAME
    note: this make you have the other debug mode features, as B + start = slow motion & A + start = reset game.


    FFFF0B:0000 SELECT SONIC & TAILS IN CURSOR OF STAGES MENU (force nº ver)
    FFFF0B:0001 SELECT SONIC IN CURSOR OF STAGES MENU (force nº ver)
    FFFF0B:0002 SELECT TAILS IN CURSOR OF STAGES MENU (force nº ver)

    note 1: forces the nº of cursor, for select what character you want to play the selected stage.
    note 2: this time i cant find the other code, (alt ver. not force nº).
    note 3: this select char cursor codes, are also needed for make the 3 blue knuckles vs super metal sonic GG cheat.

    note 4 : is possible use the select char cursor codes or the body codes in the stages menu, for deceive the game. just select one char and one stage without cheats and then enable the code.
    as example: char 03 knuckles & sky sanctuary 2, or char 01 sonic & dooms day.

    then select the stage, and when screen fades, FAST change the char with these cursor or body codes. this make that you can play almost else stage with else char.
    for example sonic & tails in sky sanctuary 2 vs super metal sonic, or tails/knuckles in doomsday zone (this cause palette fails due they not have palette for that).

    also body codes causes change palette colours. as example select 03 knuckles in sky sanctuary 2 vs super metal sonic, and use body code with sonic, make sonic are red.
    use inf rings code and super-hyper code for make char regain is true color.

    the only thing this codes cant make, are allow -knuckles can fight knuckles-. but already exist that GG code, with these same name (-knuckles can fight knuckles-), in the database.



    FFEF4D:0003 SELECT KNUCKLES IN NO SAVE MODE.
    FFEF4D:0004 SELECT KNUCKLES BLUE IN NO SAVE MODE.
    note 1: the same as cursor codes. however you can see the picture of knuckles red there. with knuckles blue, you see the delete sign.

    important note for the 14 emeralds code:

    dont use the 14 emeralds code in doomsday zone! (just enable & disable it in death egg zone 2).
    use the 14 emerald code in doomsday causes the floating island dont go up, and the game freezes there, not showing the rest of the ending.

    alternatively, use in doomsday zone both 7 & 14 emeralds codes together.
    this avoid the game crash there. and you can see hyper sonic during ending, because you have 14 emeralds and not 7.


    FFFE21:0063 RINGS 99

    -explanation-: the up codes was posted in bombergames forum, by "joyjoyful rabbit" (btw thanks a lot sister!!). but i dont have idea of what person do that codes.
    im sure that not are from her, and also i know that some few of the people there, already knows these codes.
    so... from where are this codes? well, i dont have idea, but i supposed that must be a famous site that saddly i dont know :P.

    -instructions-:
    this 3 GG codes works in S3&K or S&K alone.
    it works from the select stage menu, with select character cursor in 00 (Sonic and Tails) only.
    however, only knuckles can play sky sanctuary, so you also need do some few tricks more...
    also, Player 3 Blue knuckles can go thought objects unlike others.
    and Only Sky Sanctuary zone can have some fun where the real red Knuckles fights with final boss Mecha Sonic.

    -how exactly do it?-:
    it works in s3&k or s&k alone. enable the select stage code, then you have 2 options:

    1) play with 3 blue knuckles in mushroom hill zone 1. from stages menu, select char cursor in 00 and select mushroom hill zone 1. you directly play there as 3 blue knuckles.

    2) play with 3 blue knuckles in sky sanctuary zone 2 vs super metal sonic. from stages menu, select char cursor in 03 (because only knuckles are allowed by the game for select that stage). then you must push start, and then the screen fades to load the stage. in that moment go FAST to par-GG codes in kegafusion and use the select char cursor code with 00 "sonic & tails". if you do it enough fast, then when sky sanctuary zone 2 load, you have there the 3 blue knuckles. enjoy

    REMENBER= you cant change into debug ring, because the sprites crashes. but you can use
    another codes like 99 rings, and be super-hyper for fight vs super metal sonic!.

    and not forget you need this GG code along with the par cursor code, for select char cursor in stages menu. because you need deceive the game by select 03 for allow you select sky sanctuary zone 2, and then enable fast the cursor code at 00 (sonic & tails).

    -explanation-:
    several time ago, i enjoy by play one pirate arcade machine of sonic 3 game, here in spain.
    that game use credits with the "C" letter of the copyright message, and the most important: only have 2 minutes (or even 1 minute as option like i also can see) and not 10 minutes of time.

    with 1 minute is totally impossible, but with 2 minutes is a true challenge try to beat the game!. in special for the sonic fans.

    by the way, the most harder part was the ending vs final robotonick, because you have forced to do the flurry 2nd jump attack when robotnick comes from the down part, or sure you are out of time. think that the knuckles launch intro takes too much time.
    but is really possible do it in time, when only a few remaining seconds (3 as much).

    believe me, i end this sonic3 2 minutes time game several times.

    by the way, also think that is only possible with sonic or sonic & tails. with tails alone it gives more time than only 2 minutes.


    well sometime ago, i do a request for this cool thing. and Ugetab make my wish true (again thanks a lot pal!) by using my par inf time codes, to find some GG codes that make the game finally have 2 minutes and not 10.
    also i can find some others GG codes, some by modify the ugetab codes. and others with luck and by do test of several codes, using the existing GG inf time codes in this database.
    (until now i dont know how find GG codes, only par codes).

    well, these are the resulting GG codes we found:

    these other version from the left, is something that looks like par codes, but not are that trully. i supposed that simply are GG codes tranformed into numbers, but i always think that also looks like if are memory adresses... :P.
    maybe is cause GG codes are directly that: memory adresses ¿? i dont know sure.

    so if i feel sad when i try to be menber of sonic retro without none luck, for posting all this codes... here in gshi, i feel just the contrary.

    and as a big sonic fan i are, i feel very happy for can collaborate with you guys

    i do 2 screenshots for show you the 3 blue knuckles GG codes working, for you see it real works .

    but dont forget guys, that for do that, you also need the cursor select char par code in stages menu.

    like i say, i dont know who make this GG cheat code, but like you can see, is fantastic!


    here the codes used in mushroom hill zone. (not need deceive the game by in the select stage menu, change the char in the last moment, by the select cursor char code).


    here are used in sky sanctuary zone 2 vs super metal sonic. for this you need enter in select stage menu and change the char in the last moment, by using the select char cursor code there.

    (read up for the required instructions).

    hi again people.

    since i try to help in streets of rage.net with my par codes, i notice that you guys forget add to the database 2 old codes i post inside this big treat. (from christmast)

    well, these are the 2 codes...



    streets of rage 1:
    --------------------
    FFFA7B:0001 enable level select and 7 lives in options.

    FFFFC7:000X select difficulty level.
    XX=
    00 easy
    01 normal
    02 hard
    03 hardest

    note: with this, you can see that only exist 4 difficulty levels in sor1. not exist none secret difficulty levels. (like that mania cheat fake shot from internet) sure)

    also you can change the dificulty level in the middle of the stage during play, but only effects in the enemy speed, and not in the amount of life they does to you with their attacks.
    (you can notice that because enemys in "00=easy" moves slow, and after change to "03=very hard"they move fast. but they still do the same damage when you change the dif level in middle game)

    so for full change the level difficulty to another, you must enable the code just before pass the stage, for have changed the difficulty level when you starts into the next stage.

    note for cheat finders: i make this by count. in options and with the code enabled is 01, and in options with the cheat not maked is 00. then kegafusion par finder gives to me the code.


    maybe you dont notice this codes because are in the middle of one "talk post".


    and now, like this treat is also for sega master system codes, today i want to post some few codes i search. they are for sms and ggear.

    instructions: this invulnerable code are a little buggy.
    use it only after stages starts, and remenber always be hit first by one enemy shot.
    that make you are invulnerable for the rest of the stage (for shots and enemys).

    however if you touch one enemy body before of be hit by one shot, then the screen stops and you cant continue the stage. and then you are forced to use the -auto death- codes.

    the up/down codes make that the helicopter appears in the screen, for the case you forget enable the code only after the stage starts. i recommended use save states with this codes.

    00C009:XX select stage

    02= stage 3
    03= stage 4 (last stage)

    00C006:00 autofire (machine gun & missiles!)

    07 & others= more playable enemys, however they only works ok if the game have these enemy in that stage, and then that palette was loaded or something like that. just the exactly thing that happens with the eagle.

    note 1: eagle looks bad in arcade mode, when you are in a normal stage that not have the eagle boss enemy. in duel works perfect.
    note 2: dont try throw the magic with enemys!, or the game crash. i suggest you use the potions code with 00 potions, for avoid crash the game.

    i dont notice until now, that this new codes allow you play as enemys!!, like these other game genie super cool code!.
    now we can see the raison... in golden axe 3 the enemys was programmed as playable chars. i supposed they do that for do some type of test or something ¿?. however like i explain up, this playable enemys only works in these stage with those cpu enemys, and then that colour plalette load or something related.

    i think about the hard work you performed of add the codes from the forum posts to the database, then i think that maybe can help this little thing:

    when you already copy the codes from one post in the forum to the database, maybe you can add to that post one image of a seal. (something like that old nintendo 8 bits seal of quality).

    then when you want to test if these codes are already added or not to the database, you can see these seal in one side of that lone post, in that treat. so you easy noticed if you already copy that codes to the database or not.

    is a easy thing, that maybe can help you...

    hi to all. i finally notice that prototype of lobo for genesis. so i find some codes...
    the required for p2 energy, and also 2 select char body codes.

    hi, well this is a little offtopic, but i think maybe you guys are interested in know this....

    like sonic retro hackers do all the dreamed sonic hacks (and even more) possible, almost all the cool things are now possible... like for example play with tails or knuckles in sonic 1 and many others things.

    but i always really miss one thing: play with tails in sonic & knuckles alone game. (not in the sonic3 + knuckles).

    well, like you already know, by using these body codes i find, and that are already posted here in this treat (just some post ago) i see that tails exist in sonic & knuckles, but without sprites, and thats mean are playable, but invisible.


    well, the news now are that by using that cool hack of "sonic 3 complete", and in title screen, "1 player" if you push B+start, then the title screen changes from sonic 3, to sonic & knuckles.
    HOWEVER, the game still dont allow you use tails there (only sonic or knuckles).


    but like this hack are maked to be the sonic 3 game that was, before sega split it into 2 games (s3 and s&k), the tails aprites are re-entered in the game.

    so you only need to use my par codes from before in this treat, for play as "sonic & tails", or as "tails only" in the sonic & knuckles game, by using this hack.

    interesting right?

    anyway is a pity thay they dont make a hack for the part of "sonic and knuckles" and add tails directly to the character select (not only sonic or knuckles avaliable). or if not, even do a hack for this directly into a sonic & knuckles hacked game.

    but hey, after all now we can finally enjoy of play with tails in sonic & knuckles game, thanks to all this.


    well, for make this more easy for else person interested, follow my steps:

    1) download the sonic 3 complete hack here in sonic retro:

    note: i also recommended save the website info along witht the rom. because have lot of info and also cheats. and dont forget that in this game hack, the super/hyper transformation are enable or dissable by push B+C and not by double jump as always.
    but tails only can transforms in super if him have 14 emeralds, you know...

    2) use kegafusion emulator and load the rom, then push B+start in "1player" title screen for change sonic 3 titlle screen to sonic & knuckles titlke screen.

    3) now with this kegafusion emulator and not other, use my previous par codes:

    (note for gshi staff: dont pay attention to this codes, i just repeat here some of my previous codes in this post, just for make this little guide more easy for all)

    note 1: eagle looks bad in arcade mode, when you are in a normal stage that not have the eagle boss enemy. in duel works perfect.
    note 2: dont try throw the magic with enemys!, or the game crash. i suggest you use the potions code with 00 potions, for avoid crash the game.

    i dont notice until now, that this new codes allow you play as enemys!!, like these other game genie super cool code!.

    I only found how to change the colour of the player's sprites for golden axe 3.
