Default What happened to the Rainbow Islands Extra cheats for Genesis?

Since I've changed computers and couldn't bring the cheat files I saved on my old hard drive to my new PC, I wanted to re-input my Rainbow Islands Extra Mega Drive cheats, but after searching the forums to get them back on this new PC, I can't seem to find them anywhere. Did you guys take them down after Hiro left? I needed the infinite lives, have all big diamonds and big mirrors cheat, and perhaps a better invincibility (found the old one still in the forums, but when you touch a boss while invincible, you have to fight him again).

I miss those RIE codes and wondering if anyone could re-hack them?

Hiro requested we take down his codes. As far as I know, they were never put up anywhere ever again after that... It seems BSFree actually has the codes, thanks to Rune being a dickhead: http://gshi.org/bsfree.php?s=11&d=5&g=4364

Don't know if that's all of them, but it's better than nothing.

And they haven't even tried to find a better invincibility cheat (if it exists, Hiro worked furiously at trying to find one that allows bosses to touch you and not have to start the battle over, but it never happened), thanks for pointing them out.

Here are some new Game Genie codes for Rainbow Island Extra. I didn't have time to test the invincibility codes with any bosses, so let me know if they have the same problems as hiro's PAR codes. Also, would a GG code to make the rainbows last longer be helpful?

The invincibility code works, but again the boss battles restart when they touch you. Looks like this is one game that won't take a clean invincible code for an answer. Another side effect is, when you start a new world, the invincibility wears off. Definitely a stubborn game, also one of the rarest Genesis games made, regularly about a 100 bucks sealed..

I think most of the invincibility cheats for this game are based on the invincibility timer, hence the issues with the boss. I've had a quick look at it, here's a code that knocks out the sprite collision detection. Can't say for sure if it's got any side effects maybe you can report back if you find any (seemed perfect on the first world)

    Here's some new "jump" codes...

The code Pugsy posted works throughout the game, only a small side effect due to hit collision being turned off, you have to get items via hitting, or crushing them with rainbows (not a big deal), so it's total invincibility, bosses cannot hit you, nor does the battle repeat if they do. Now if only I remembered that silver door in every boss room code Hiro found, then that version of RI would be pretty much covered.

I don't like side effects ....three more codes but this should work 100% (finished all 7 islands and couldn't see any)

Thanks Pugsy, you nailed it on that shot, no side effects as you've said. Still wish I remembered that silver door in the boss room code Hiro made, that's about the last code I really need for that version, as I can usually get all 7 gems in a world on my own.
